Hideaway Marina was built in the mid 80’s by the prominent marina
builder, Roof
and Rack. For many years, Hideaway Marina was the largest dry stack storage
facility in South Florida and served as a showcase for Roof and Rack.
Today, Hideaway Marina, owned by Pierre and Danielle Gaudreau, is one of the few
dry storage marinas left in South Florida due to hurricanes and economic
development.
Pierre Gaudreau knows the boating industry well. Gaudreau is the man behind the
success story of Sunseeker Yachts. He introduced Sunseeker Yachts to the United
States in 1988 and turned a little known company into a household name. After 14
years as the distributor and dealer, Gaudreau sold the franchise to Sunseeker
England. With new direction, Hideaway Marina was ready for some changes,
upgrades and expansion.
Danielle Gaudreau joined the company in 2004 after spending over 20 years in the
model and talent
industry. Her focus has been re-branding, public relations,
international relations, advertising and special affairs. Most recently her
biggest project has been the complete renovation of the entire marina due to
Hurricane Wilma and taking care of their new baby.
In the last 12 months, Hideaway Marina has expanded and added new boat lines to
its dealership, maintained a perfect service department with a CSI score of 99.9
percent, the highest in the country, launched a nationwide boat transport
company and a yacht charter division.
In order to serve its clients better and keep up with the growth of the company,
Hideaway Marina purchased a second facility in Fort Lauderdale in 2005. This
20,000 sq. ft. warehouse stores boats on trailers, provides full paint services
and is the home of the boat transport division.
Hideaway Yacht Collection, the newest member of the Hideaway family has been
launched this year and is the importer and distributor for the Americas of MAS
by Prima, an Italian custom high-tech powerboat.
With clients coming from as far as Tokyo and South Africa, Hideaway Marina will
continue to be a strong leader in the boating industry.
And as much as Pierre and Danielle Gaudreau are devoted to Hideaway Marina and
the yachting industry, they also actively support causes that they feel strongly
about. The Gaudreau family and Hideaway Marina support the Humane Society of
Broward County, PAWS (Pets are Worth
Saving) – an auxiliary of the Humane
Society of Broward County, the National Save The Turtle Foundation, Save the
Manatees and Kids in Distress.
